- Dry mouth
- Dry skin
- Little or no urination — any urine that is produced will be dark yellow or amber
- Low Blood Pressure
- Dizziness or light-headedness
Most of us experience at least 1-2 of these symptoms & this could be an indication of dehydration.
With the excess doses of Tea, coffee and soda drinks containing caffeine, our body is bound to lose water. We must have all heard that we need to have 8-10 glasses of water but very few of us actually manage to squeeze in those 8-10 glasses in our hectic schedules.
Here are few tried, tested & simple tips to increase your water intake:
TIP 1 : Get a nice Bottle for yourself… If you do this, Trust me… you are half way there… A great looking bottle, kept next to you the whole day… following you every where you go… you just cannot miss drinking water, at least every few hours.
TIP 2 : Be aware of your Thirst. Thirst is such a natural & biological thing. You need to be conscious & learn to judge when you are thirsty. To begin, start drinking water every 1-1.5 hours, whether thirsty or not. You will automatically realise that your body craves for more water. Your thirst will increase & you will be able to feel this clearly in may be just 3-4 days. The moment you realise that your Thirst is getting more significant just ensure you NEVER EVER ignore it… Make sure you drink water as soon as you feel the slightest of Thirst.
TIP 3 : Drinking Partner… This was a fun way to actually start the whole ‘drinking your way to health’ thing… My husband & I became drinking Partners & initially we kept reminding each other to drink water almost ever 2-3 hours. This really helped in keeping a check & monitoring water intake throughout the day. Now our daughter is our new Drinking Partner & we all drink our way to health…
Apart from these 3 tips what helped me was, reading about the benefits of water & how it flushes out toxins, is great for your skin as well as aids in weight loss… now who does not want a beautiful skin !!! 🙂
So Happy Drinking & Healthy Living….
